She currently works as a Service Designer at the Government of Alberta, aligning people, policy, and technology to improve how public services are delivered.
Previously, she served as Manager of Service Design at Fjord and led award-winning work at Ontario’s Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, where her team received the Service Design Network Award for their contributions to transforming the worker compensation experience. Shivika has also worked as a Service Design Consultant at Clay Design Strategy in Mumbai, and as a Service Designer at Engine Service Design in London and ActionAid in Milan.
Earlier in her career, she held strategic design roles at J. Walter Thompson in Mumbai and founded a social enterprise supporting homeless women. Shivika’s work is grounded in inclusive design, systems thinking, and a deep commitment to making services that help make people’s everyday life easier to live.

Founded and organized by local designers (including Francis Szakacs, Laura De Santis, and Shivika Sood), the group fosters connections across experience levels and industries. Since its post‑pandemic revival earlier this year, it’s become a regular platform for Toronto’s service design community to reconnect, learn, and grow together
