About Service Design Singapore

Service Design Singapore is the leading community for Service Design practitioners in Singapore.

Service Design Singapore (SGSG) is a community of design and innovation practitioners from public and private sectors in Singapore. The community is an affiliate of the global Service Design Network (SDN), representing its Singapore chapter.

Key features of Service Design Singapore are in-person gatherings that foster human connection and provide space for serendipity, along with quality content in terms of curated speakers, their stories, and principles of practice that participants derive from these events.

SGSG is not for profit. The community is run by a group of volunteers who give their time, energy, and often personal money to run activities.

Service Design Singapore humbly began as 'After Works Drinks' in 2013. What started as an informal evening get-together of the design community in a cosy studio soon blossomed into a series of eventful sessions featuring sharings by designers from all over the world with a multitude of experiences—not forgetting the informal conversations still had over drinks.

In 2019, the community morphed 'After Works Drinks' into 'Service Design Drinks' to bring more focus to conversations and community. In 2020, SGSG expanded by making SDD trans-continental through collaboration with SDD Tokyo and SDD Frankfurt for the Reset: Post-Covid event.
